Monday on the Dais

Yesterday was one day that Beth knew I'd have an awesome adventure with at her work. Every second and fourth Monday she updates laptops the County Commissioners and others use on the Dais. Hard to say what that is but where the laptops are. They call that room the Board Room and Room 209. She was right I *did* have a blast! Lots of photos of yours truly.

One of the nine laptops she updates. See I'm a good supervisor!

I'm not sure what this machine is - maybe a captioning or something. I was a good Freckle and not pound the keys.

I like this one! Would love to have pounded the gavel but it's heavier than me!
They don't have me listed - Chair Jitters W. Buttfreckle. I fit right in. :)
Beth said Steve left his cup on the dais. I thought Gainesville was the land of the Gators?
This is where they record the County Commission meetings.
Tried as I might I couldn't get in.

Here's the podium where folks speak in front of the County Commission.
Information as folks walk into the Board Room.
My new job! I wonder what they'd pay me?

Loved this adventure a lot! Beth was right - I did enjoy helping her out yesterday! Lots of neat stuff in the Alachua County website. Beth works in a neat place!

Happy Valentine's Day!

That's all I wanted to say! Hope you have a great day and give your special someone a hug from Jitters. Most definitely give your Buttfreckles a kiss. :)

More later from me on my Monday adventure....

Hanging out with fruit and figs on Sunday!

Hi all again! Was a nippy and cold Sunday in Gainesville but it was sunny! Not to disappoint my legions of fans your favorite traveling Buttfreckle had another adventure! Not as exciting as Saturday's Cox trip, but I met some of the fruit bearing trees and bushes in Beth's yard!

Beth's dormant blueberry bush. There are two of them. She says they come in pairs so they can pollinate each other. She has some blueberries in her freezer from this one. Maybe she'll make me some blueberry pancakes before I head onto Auntie Brenda's!

This is her fig tree. Like the blueberry bush, this too is dormant. She said she had a bumper crop of figs - some too are frozen. She said her mom made an awesome fig cake and also will use in her (mom) fruit cake. Not sure my take on fruit cake, but fig cake -yum!

Me in Beth's muscadine grape arbor. Looks like this needs pruning. Beth said the squirrels and birds had their way with the muscadines this year.
Her kumquat bush! Now these have fruit! Beth has made kumquat marmalade in the past. I may have to try some. Then again we don't want a sticky faced Buttfreckle!

Finally me and grapefruit! Yes, these ARE much bigger than me! Since her tree had no low hanging fruit we all, including Beth, climbed up the tree! No Buttfreckles nor humans were harmed in these photos. However quite a few of these grapefruits were harvested!

This was a fun time but I was glad to get inside. Very cold for sure. Now my Monday - Beth says I will enjoy it lots! See you all soon!

Saturday's Long Walk to Cox!

Hi there, your favorite Buttfreckle Jitters again! As you'll see my host Beth takes lots and lots of walks. I wonder if she'll end up to take me home in Austin but I doubt it! Then I'd never get to see all my hosts this year. But onto Saturday. Beth had a bill to pay so we walked and walked and walked to Cox. I was wondering if we'd ever make it. But a few shots of me along the way....

On the way!
And sneaking in a photo of me and my buddy Zeebee (he's known as Chef too)!

And we follow the crossing signs, kids!

And no, I didn't get eaten by the poinsettia at the Trinity church. :)

We're here at Cox!

Wasn't expecting the cool Cox Gator - as I sit on his fiber optic cable!

Now to pay the bill!

It was worth the long walk as I had a blast! Nice weather and good traveling partner in Zeebee. See you soon!

Checking out that Trojan statue - Friday!

Hi all! My Friday adventure wasn't as exciting as my "supervising" Beth at EPD. Beth does a lot of walking during her lunch time and has been scoping out places to take me. One of these was a pawn shop. There's this cook Trojan warrior statue. Of course the inquisitive Buttfreckle I am, I wanted to see!
He was up on a porch and sort of blocked by a stove - so these are the best we got!
Plus an archery thing.
Of course your favorite Buttfreckle digs higher education too! There's a branch of Santa Fe College in downtown Gainesville. One of the ladies who helped Beth get her job years ago (back in 2004 - *way* before I was made) works here. Interestingly the same lady's husband now works with Beth!
 Yes, it's really me!

Santa Fe used to be a two-year community college and now offers four year degrees. Now this isn't the biggest university in Gainesville. I'll be visiting there sometime soon! I can't wait!!!

Friday was a short adventure but wait for Saturday's! I had a blast and then we'll be caught up. :) See you soon!

Working at Alachua County EPD!

Wow, a Buttfreckle doesn't get much time to rest and relax! While I arrived Wednesday night after Beth's boxing class (she was shocked to see me - she thought it would be her 'adopted' Freckle Droftrah instead), we headed off to work Thursday morning.

One of her projects was making "hot" (very odd term) some ports at the Alachua County EPD department. Of course I went along to help.
She wanted to walk over to EPD but rode over with her coworker, Kenny. She planned a few things like help Erika get ready for a webinar, bring some laptops over and those ports. I wanted to see what all this jazz was about. But that place, it was neat!
This is inside the closet place.
Enough room for me to fit!
Places for plugs.
A swing for me! Freckles love fun!!! These are called patch cables. You plug them into a thing called a "switch". Then, she said 'people can sign onto the network and work.' She tested the connections and they all work. Way to go Beth!

Before we had left for EPD, she took a picture with me and Captain Calamari. He's a present for a coworker. Two colorful and cool guys! I had a great day and there's more to come! See you all later!

I've arrived in Gainesville!

Hi all! I arrived in Gainesville, home of the Florida Gators (send part of my early SEC tour) Wednesday night! My new host, Beth Knizer, came home to find me in her mail box. She had her boxing class and was NOT expecting yours truly! Photos of my arrival had to come Thursday. But here I am!

I'll do my best to update when I can!
